UN goals in the project

We accompany farmers from neighboring villages to overcome their poverty through sustainable agriculture and forestry, alternative economic activities and knowledge transfer.

Through poverty alleviation and sustainable business practices, the food situation improves, especially for children living on the edge of the Mein Regenwald Reserve.

Through our sponsored children program, we provide psychological and medical counseling to the villages on the edge of the Mein Regenwald Sanctuary.

Our team accompanies children, youth and adults from the villages on the edge of the Mein Regenwald Sanctuary through knowledge transfer, education for sustainable development and education about their rights.

We empower all villagers on the edge of the Mein Regenwald Conservation Area - children, youth and adults, men and women. In doing so, we strengthen women's participation.

We protect the headwaters of more than 110 streams and rivers that supply drinking water to entire counties. We help villages adjacent to the protected area to build better sanitation facilities and keep rivers clean.

We empower people living on the edge of the Mein Regenwald Sanctuary to improve their working conditions and strengthen the local economy in an environmentally friendly way through sustainable agriculture and forestry, alternative products such as organic coffee, and direct market access.

By empowering and enabling local people on the edge of the Mein Regenwald Conservation Area, we reduce inequality between rural and urban populations.

We strengthen local governance, sustainable development, and land rights of villages adjacent to the Mein Regenwald Conservation Area.

The protected areas of My Rainforest absorb 40,000 tons of CO2 every year". This is an important and lasting contribution to climate protection and achievement of the 1.5 degree target of the Paris climate protection agreement.

Mein Regenwald protects many different aquatic ecosystems such as springs, streams and rivers. They are habitat, hunting and spawning grounds for countless species: Aquatic birds, mammals, amphibians, fish and invertebrates.

Our protected areas preserve many habitats: trop. Mountain forests, cloud forests and peatlands. They border other protected areas such as national parks and indigenous communities. This creates large, interconnected biological corridors for thousands of species: more tree species than in all of Central Europe, hummingbirds, frogs, butterflies, orchids, jaguars, spectacled bears and tapirs.

We promote the sustainable and self-determined development of an entire region and are part of two UNESCO biosphere reserves. This promotes peace, justice and the work of democratic institutions.

Mein Regenwald is a German-Peruvian cooperation. We work together with authorities, universities, international research institutions and NGOs. This makes a strong project for sustainable development.
